Meet Dan Marquith

Dan has made the State of Florida his home for his entire life.  As a child of “The Glades”, he grew up attending Hendry County Public Schools in Clewiston, Florida.  Since Dan could remember he wanted to become a deputy sheriff.  During high school he was hired part time with the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office.  Shortly, after graduating high school, Dan moved to the beautiful Florida Keys, and continued his law enforcement career with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office  in Key West.  After a few years, Dan relocated his family to Osceola County, and continues to call Central Florida home, after all these years. 
Dan spent over twenty years in law enforcement rising through the ranks of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.  He eventually retired from the OCSO at the rank of Captain.  Dan continued his law enforcement service as a reserve deputy sheriff at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
After leaving full time law enforcement, Dan began to serve as an advisor to Congressman Darren Soto of Florida’s 9th District.  Additionally, Dan went to work in the field of non-profit senior management as the Deputy Regional Executive Director over operations in Florida and Puerto Rico. 
Dan continues to reside in Osceola County with his wife, children, and two dogs.

Dan’s Priorities

Florida Retirement System should be reformed to its original state. Allowing first responders the ability to retire after 25 years of service. 

True and adequate PTSD coverage for first responders.

Full cancer presumption for Florida’s Firefighters.

 
Paying our teachers what they deserve and reducing their years of service required for retirement.

Increase Insurance Subsidies for retired FRS Members.

Continue to grow and improve our infrastructure.

Invest in education so we can develop an innovative workforce.

Support our Farmers and Ranchers to ensure agriculture has the necessary resources to thrive.
